Adults are humans or animals who have completed their development. Adults are considered to be a social notion and a legal one in the human world. Contrary to those who are not considered an adult or "minor" an legal adult is a person who has reached the age of majority that makes them independent, capable, and responsible. The word "major" may be applied to the person. The age at which a child can legally become an adult is 18 years old, however the definition of"legal maturity" may differ based on the legal or country system as well as their psychological state.

Adulthood refers to the time in the human lifespan in where physical and mental maturity has occurred. It usually starts when a person reaches the age of 21. The middle age stage, which begins approximately 40 years of age, is followed by the age of 60 years. The three main stages of adulthood are the early years (from the mid 30s until late 60s) mid-adulthood between the mid-30s through late-60s, and finally adulthood (mid-60s until death). When we reach the beginning of adulthood, we are physically peaking. The strength of our muscles, the response time, sensoriac ability and cardiac function all reach their highest levels.
